Room was comfy though, location excellent, and the building quaint and excellent.
Would have given a higher score if staff had been nicer and room had more to it. Not a luxury hotel experience.

Over-expanded, and too much cost cutting
Parking is a problem, as the hotel's capacity far exceeds the spaces they have, and this is not really a public transport destination.
The first hint of cost cutting was being given 2 vouchers on arrival where you can forgo any form of room servicing in exchange for a "free" drink from the bar. The staff commented that it was a popular option, and saved the cleaning staff a lot of time - I suspect that it actually means that fewer local staff are employed.
When the cleaning was done, it certainly didn't return the room to complete freshness.
When arriving on night 1 at 4pm, it was disappointing to be told that there was no availability for dinner (£30/head prepaid allowance) after 5:30pm and before 8:00pm. We had checked in online, and dining time was not mentioned then.
Dinner on the first night was slow. Sitting down after 8pm meant that we didn't get food until 8:45pm and, as the staffing reduced at 9:00pm, getting an order taken for dessert took too long. There were unavailable mains and desserts, which we were not told about until when we tried to order them.
We chose to eat elsewhere on night 2, forgoing that £90 of food allowance.
Eating in on night 3 when we could get a 7pm table, we experienced the same slow service and unavailable items when we ordered. With the same relatively limited menu, multiple unavailable items suggest poor stock control.
The evening restaurant does not appear to try to use tables twice, so the scarce resource is likely to be in the kitchen.
Breakfast was also a frustrating experience. After finding your own table, you get your own first bits, before the staff spot someone, and then take an order for the plated main part. With so many seating areas, this is a bit haphazard.
As staff are taking orders and carrying plates to tables, there is no-one monitoring the availability of items that guests help themselves to. So each day, it was necessary to ask for items that had already run out - cereals; yoghurt; fruit compote; milk; bread, butter and plates for toast. This was at 8:30am, with a breakfast window lasting an hour longer than that! On Saturday, we were told that someone would have to go out to buy some more yoghurt! Stock control again?
Don't try to check out while breakfast is in full swing, as the staff are serving there rather than on reception.
This hotel appears to have over-expanded, now with over 60 rooms, but without the staff or the facilities to cater for their guests properly.
