Perfect stay

A successful experiences on this trip with a location we discovered entirely by chance in Verona, or more precisely in Dossi, a small village located about 15 km away (approximately 25-30 minutes by car). I say by chance because we ended up here while trying to avoid the noise and hustle of the famous city, as well as the high accommodation and parking prices. That’s how we found this wonderful guesthouse, which I’ll describe in the following article: Agriturismo Ai Dossi – from agricultural production to agritourism.
From the moment you step through the gate, everything is authentically Italian. The reception, the warm welcome, the tour of the location, and, of course, the accommodation (the rooms). We were greeted by Lorenzo, who we later discovered to be a renowned chef with extensive experience in Verona’s restaurants. We also selected our breakfast menu at that time: since there were three of us, we chose two „solti” menus and one „dolce” – to make the culinary experience complete.
What turned a simple stay into an experience, however, was the dinner offered by the hosts. And what could be more authentic in Italy than pizza and wine?! Well, there were six types of gourmet pizza proposed and prepared by Masterchef Lorenzo, using ingredients from their own production or local farms, and for each one, Margherita served (and of course described, as a young sommelier should) six types of wines – some from local wineries, others produced on their own property.

IN THE VINEYARDS AND OLIVE VINEYARDS

A place of absolute tranquility. Here, the air conditioning can already be a disruptive factor. Good view of the wide plain. Whoever chooses this house must be aware that it is agriturismo, so a mixture between agriculture and tourist, alternative accommodation. Here they are woken up by the rooster or tractor and if they are unlucky by a pesticide-spraying high-pressure blower (actually does not fit the house) in the vineyard. It's a shame, because the poisonous scent is in the air for a long time. You can feel that you are in the countryside and far from the nearest village by the road surface on the driveway and the surrounding area. The newer building with the rooms, as well as the pool is sunny all day. That you empty the chemistry exactly at noon in the pool and the el. Robots thrown in despite complaints does not show hospitality but arrogance and indifference. The rooms, fortunately without TV, with pool view, are spacious, clean and actually quiet, but the insulation between the rooms is suboptimal, but ok with few guests. Very unpleasant were the little biting roommates in bed. Breakfast simple but enough. Large pool, unfortunately not heated, you could solve this with a few solar hoses. Those who go here take in the hilly landscape, order a soave in a bar in a surrounding village and enjoy a fine dinner in a very good trattoria. In summary; the house and the surroundings still have huge room for improvement, with a few simple steps and little effort, e.g. a few pillows, deck chair pads, nice shade place outside at breakfast etc. because the yoga mat was not in our priority list. Price-performance rather in the upper segment. You could also offer fruits or similar for the guests at lunchtime, because the day is long and you work with the guests introverted and shy on a budget.

5/5 is still too little for this stay

We stayed here 3 nights and want to recommend this so much to everyone. What a blissful stay this is!
First of all a big thank you to Lorenzo, Margherita and Camilla. They received us warmly, were always super helpful and were also very pleasant and nice people.
The rooms were superb! Clean, very spacious and bright with fantastic views.
Daily we were served a buffet breakfast with the choice between a sweet or savoury extra breakfast. All very fresh and tasty.
All peace we experienced at this location. An infinity pool with views over the hills.
We hope to be able to stay there again in the future. Let us know when you come to Belgium.

Fantastisch!

Een fantastische accomodatie. Heerlijk ontbijt. Je kan aangeven of je een hartig of zoet onbijt wil hebben. Daarnaast staan er gekookte eitjes, yoghurt en vers fruit . Er is ook een heel fijn zwembad en mooie schone kamers. Zeker een aanrader!
