Excellent

Excellent hotel. It has a large open space, an upper floor q has a good view from the sunset, the pool area is very nice and clean. Breakfast has good variety and good taste. The rooms are spacious, clean and well structured, nice bathroom, but with little pressure in the shower. It's worth it

Find better accommodations

There were so many problems during our stay that I don't even know where to start.
The room is tight and no acoustic insulation.
On the first night, I was awakened before 6am by the employees who dragged tables and chairs and made crabs.
There is no refreshment at breakfast buffet, nor cleaning of tables. The used crazy ones stayed on the tables with flies and prevented the guests from occupying the tables. One day the dishes were finished to serve and when informed the employee only answered I know and remained for that. Staff take breakfast with guests.
We requested cleaning of the room 2 days in a row and was not carried out. The reception staff keep moving on the cell phone and do not pay attention to the demands.

Not the best experience

The inn is well located, has a beautiful rustic design, but the way they regulate guests' stays in the accommodations and the external area did not make me feel comfortable. For example: if you get your towels or bed sheets dirty (white by the way) you pay a $50 fee, you lose your room key a $50 fee, take drinks/food to be consumed outside, $60... I thought it was quite abusive , because when we choose to leave our homes to rest at an inn, we would not like to be monitored and taxed in this way. Another thing is the breakfast, very poor.

Good hostel, but I expected more. I didn't think it was a good value for money.

This is the fourth time I've been to Icaraizinho de Amontada, having stayed four times in different hotels. The reviews of Pousada Velho Chico really attracted me and I really wanted to stay there, I had a lot of expectations. Maybe that was the problem... It was a good stay, but below expectations and definitely far from having a “differentiator” or a “plus” that would attract or maintain customer loyalty. Therefore, I didn't think it was a good value for money. It's expensive for what it offers.
Strengths:
- Excellent location, close to the beach and the center, we can do almost everything on foot.
- The staff are friendly and cordial.
- They sent information via WhatsApp, such as tour tips, menu of the restaurant above the hotel, etc.
- They are pet friendly and my dog was very welcomed there, free of charge.
Negative points:
- There is no bar service at the pool, where we can order drinks and snacks. It is greatly missed.
- Very reasonable/weak breakfast. Few options and very little initiative in replacement. We had to ask for basic things all the time: replace the milk, replace the water, replace the fruit, clean the table. If you go to the cafe around 10am there is almost nothing left.
- Having to keep asking for the room to be cleaned. I think the least you expect when going to a hotel is daily cleaning. I don’t like this “on demand” policy. It doesn't work well.
- The rooms are very close to each other and this compromises the acoustics. To make matters worse, on the date we went, there was a large group that was extremely noisy and rude. They were shouting at the hotel, shouting profanity, listening to loud JBL music, children knocking over chairs in the pool... Chaos. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault, but rather the customer's education. The only criticism is that they didn't take the initiative to organize the place. It was only after we went to complain to reception, after being woken up 3 times. But the request was met, they lowered the volume.
In short, it's a cool place, which has the potential to improve a lot. I emphasize that the criticism is that for the amount we paid (~ 800 reais for a night for 3 people during Holy Week), I have already stayed in much better options and with more comfort and exclusivity. Good guesthouse, but without attractions or differences that make us want to return.

Good.

Well located break, close to the beach in Icaraizinho. Clean rooms, but no daily room cleaning. Clean and very good swimming pool. Breakfast not very plentiful, but with items that make you feel full, a problem that only starts at 7:30 am and I think it's not too late.
